I painted my first picture when I was fifteen. Our art teacher at school asked if any of her pupils would like to paint a picture of a Desert Island to enter into a Fry’s Chocolate competition. This involved all schools in Great Britain.

On the last day of school I was award 1st prize of a chest full of Fry’s Chocolate in front of all school staff and pupils. This painting has apparently traveled the world and has been shown at various international exhibitions.

The fate of the painting is unknown. I carried on with art , but 45yrs later . The Passion Returned. Some may like my work, others may not, but I hope you enjoy what you see.

Art is an escape into a world of colour and fun. A place where I can start at the beginning and learn something new with every painting I paint. Express myself creatively. I have my own style and this allows me to make the painting my own, from the choice of subject to the different techniques I explore.

This is something that I love to do, to take risks and trust the creative process.

I have always enjoyed drawing and had dabbed with the idea of giving painting a try, but only when I retired and did something about it.

I like to paint what appeals to me, paintings are a very subjective issue, and what one person sees in a painting does nothing for another, it gives me a great deal of pleasure and pride to know that other people like what I paint, and knowing that my paintings are hanging on walls in homes in Canada, America, Nigeria and South Africa is very satisfying.

December 2007 when I exhibited at Kirstenbosch for the first time I was delighted to sell some of my paintings and thankfully have continued to do so Enjoy what you see.
